The new Ernest Childers VA Outpatient Clinic which is located at 91st and Mingo in Tulsa, OK has replaced their nearly 21-year-old Tulsa facility. The new $97 million 80,000-square-foot Ernest Childers VA Outpatient Clinic in Tulsa opened its doors on July 19th, 2021, for veterans in Eastern Oklahoma.
The intent of the new clinic is to be a one -stop shop for all VA outpatient treatments. The new clinic will serve approximately 36,000 veteran patients and at times possibly up to 2,000 patients a day. Some LynxSystems employees have already experienced firsthand with family members how much this new clinic means to our veterans. This new state of the art clinic offers new imaging services, primary care, and new specialty services. This facility has an increased focus in women’s health, primary care, and behavioral health.
Such new health services and specialty services are chemotherapy, infusion, endoscopy, and mammography. The new clinic will also provide, radiology, prosthetics, specialty clinics, nutrition, and food service as well as social work services. Also, other services to be added will include audiology, mental health, rehab, dental, optometry. The new clinic has its own pharmacy and lab and a new Veterans Canteen and retail store. Also, another huge addition with this clinic is the massive upgrade for parking. These parking lots will accommodate over 700 cars.
LynxSystems contracted work at the VA Clinic included the installation of approximately 5,200 network connections with over 1.1 million feet of CAT6 cable and 32,000 feet of fiber optic cable as well for most low voltage systems which includes voice, data, wireless access points, cameras, and TVs. Our installation team built (1) Server Room and (14) IDF rooms. The Server Room consisted of (4) fully enclosed 7ft cabinets and (9) 4 post racks with full wire management and wall to wall bonded ladder rack. The IDF rooms consisted of (2) to (3) 2 post racks with full wire management and wall to wall bonded ladder rack.
From the beginning of this the 9-month project to the end, LynxSystems personnel has self-performed 100% of the job and maintained a zero-incident safety record, primarily due to our Safety-First Policy that elevates the employee and neighbor safety as our highest priority. We have incorporated many components of the ABC STEP program into our approach to this project. As we continue growing it is imperative that we increase our commitment to the Safety of our greatest assets, our personnel. It is notable that we passed all OSHA Inspections on this Project with zero infractions.
Throughout the life of this high-profile project our project manager David Ayers, field superintendent Jeff Aubuchon and site foreman Andrew Jobe managed a team of experienced personnel and trainees on this project. LynxSystems did experience some difficult factors within this project. Due to the ceiling being so congested made this project very tedious and time consuming. We had to work very closely with other ABC members such as York Electronics, Marrs Electric and DAVCO Mechanical. We all came together as an ABC unit to come up with creative and innovative w ays to ensure a proper cable pathway design for current cables as well as for future adds and changes.
